Job Title: Industrial Metal Estimator

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Metal Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in assessing project requirements, calculating material costs, and preparing accurate estimates for custom metal fabrication jobs. The ideal candidate will have experience in estimating for custom miscellaneous metals and other industrial metal fabrication projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze project specifications and drawings to understand scope and requirements.
* Calculate material quantities, costs, and labor hours for custom metal fabrication projects.
* Utilize company spreadsheet and other tools to develop detailed cost estimates.
* Source and procure materials from suppliers while ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
* Track and manage material deliveries to meet project timelines and production schedules.
* Collaborate with project managers and production teams to devise and maintain production schedules.
* Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to address inquiries and provide updates on project estimates and timelines.
* Monitor industry trends and market conditions to inform pricing strategies and maintain competitiveness.
* Participate in project kickoff meetings and provide input on cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
* Maintain accurate records of estimates, material costs, and project documentation.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in estimating for custom metal fabrication projects is required.
* Strong understanding of miscellaneous metals, food-grade stainless steel, aluminum, HVAC, ductwork, and industrial fabricating processes.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software for estimating purposes.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
* Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail in calculating material quantities and costs.
* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
* Familiarity with procurement processes and supplier relationships is a plus.
