Job Description
Summary Renaissance Montessori Academy in Parker, Colorado is seeking an early childhood Teacher, Assistant Teacher, or Aide for the 10:00 am to 4:00 pm shift starting July 15 through August 9 who enjoys creating and having fun with children and is interested in using their talents to create a unique learning curriculum. More hours can be added and if RMA has openings during the school year, this position could be continued into the 2024-2025 School Year)
This Summer Camp position starts June 2 and goes through July 25, with the possibility to continue through August 8. The hours are approximate but likely will be 10:00 am through 5:00 pm.
RMA is a small non-profit Montessori school that was established in 1995.
As an RMA employee, you would be working with a close team to support the growth and education of children 2.5 years of age through Elementary.
The Teacher supports the Summer Camp Coordinator and the Directors by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. They must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the Teacher observes and documents children's interests and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. Teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Montessori Teacher, After School and Camps Coordinator, and the Directors.
Duties Job details:
- Support and create curriculum for outside play with children
- Support and create curriculum for after school along with after school and camps coordinator.
- Support and create curriculum for summer activities during summer camp.
- If you are a native Spanish speaker - possibility to run a Spanish program as well.
- Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements The candidate will have:
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification - or willing to get within 3 months.
- Desire to continue education beyond current accolades.
- Must clear full background check and must pass a health screening.
- Highly desired: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
